Do you publish (or know someone that does)? Are you looking for more readership, or simply a place to exhibit your work? Then the Infoshop is exactly what you've been searching for. Located in Berkeley a block from the Ashby BART Station, the Infoshop is a resource and information center for activists that provides outreach to the public. It has a reading room with access to an extensive collection of alternative magazines, newspapers, leaflets and zines, not to mention tons of cool stuff for sale (publications, patches, t-shirts - the works).

It is completely volunteer run and non-profit, and your Junk Magnet works there (Sun 3-6, come by and visit if you can). I am commited to make the Infoshop the small press outlet in the Bay Area (barring perhaps the Epicenter Zone in S.F.), and to see that happen, I need your help.

- If you make zines or left-leaning to anarchist magazines, books and leaflets, send a copy for our library.

- If you want your zine to be sold to the discriminating Berkeley audience, then send a copy and we'll talk to you about consigning it.

- If you want us to distribute your work freely (from the Infoshop), then send as many copies as you can afford (our space is limited - use your best judgement)

Basically, if you want us to help you out, we will.

The Infoshop also represents the various groups that make up the Long Haul community space (where the Infoshop lives). Food Not Bombs, Free Radio Berkeley, The Industrial Workers of the World, [Slingshot] newspaper, Spiral Gardens collective, SOUL and more have offices there, and if you need more information on any of these groups, then please write c/o the Long Haul for more info.

Infoshop hours are as follows:

Mon - 4-8 PM (Women Only!)
Tue - 3-9 PM
Wed - 6-9 PM
Thu - 3-9 PM
Fri - Closed
Sat - 3-6 PM
Sun - 3-9 PM
(Say hi to JM, 3-6)

Once again: Send your publications to:

Infoshop

Berkeley, CA 94705

and indicate that you heard about it from Junk Magnet. Or, simply send the stuff to me, and I'll review it before donating it to the Infoshop library. Either way, we both win.
