"The Vampire of Hanover"
Fritz Haarman was born in Germany in 1879. He was a very disturbed child and at 17 was arrested for child molesting. He was put in a mental hospital, but escaped. Several years later he joined the army, but was discharged, because of medical problems. He committed many minor crimes and was arrested often.back to contentsIn 1918 Haarman met a male prostitute named Hans Grans. They became partners in crime, and brought young men to their home. They fed them alcohol and food until they became tired, then Haarman would seize him and suck the blood from his neck until he died.
It's estimated that 50 young men died at their hands. There was still the problem of what to do with the bodies though. Grans and Haarman chopped them into steaks and sold them on the streets as beef (nasty). The complete bodies couldn't be turned into meat, so they dumped the bones inot a canal. This became their undoing. Bones and skulls floated to the surface in 1924. Police investigated and found the victims clothes still in his house. Haarman confessed and was sentenced to death. At his own request he was decapitated in a public execution in 1924. Hans Grans would go on to serve only 12 years. Disturbing??

The "Pillowcase Rapist" Update
Well that pile of shit Reginald Muldrew got the crap beat out of him last week. In Indiana a mob attacked him and he ended up in the hospital. In critical condition. Unfortunately he didn't die, (Better luck next time), but he was pretty bad off. After (our great) justice system let him out of prison he disapeared, at least somebody found him. Personally I think he got what he deserved (Not really, but it's better than nothing), but that's just my opinion.back to contents

Poems
back to contentsVanity Fair, By Sylvia Plath.
Sent in by LLikINIKIB.
Through frost thick winter
This itch sidles, fingers crooked, as if
Caught in this hazardous medium that might
Merely by it's continuing
Attach her to heaven. At eye's envious corner
Crow's-feet copy veining on stained leaf;
Cold squint steals sky's color; while bruit
Of bells calls holy ones, her tongue
Back talks at the raven.Cleaving furred air
Over her skull's midden; no knife
Rivals her whetted look, divining what conceit
Waylays simple girls, church going,
At what hearts ovenCraves most to cook batter
Rich trayings with every armorous loaf,
Ready, for a trinket,
To squander owl-hours on bracken bedding,
Flesh unshrivenAgainst virgin prayer
This sorceress sets mirrors enough
To distract beauty's thought;
Lovesick at first song,
Each vain girl's drivenTo beyond hearts flare
No fire is, nor in any book proof
Sun hoists soul up after lids fall shut;
So she wills all to the black king.
The worst slovenVies with best queen over
Right to blaze as Satan's wife
Housed in earth, those million brides shriek out.
Some burn short, some long.
Staked in pride's coven.
For A Sister, By Me
She look's at me like I'm not there
As I try not to care
I stand and stare into her eyes
While she tells me a bunch of lies
"I'm so glad we get along."
Could she ever be more wrong?
"I'm so glad we're so close, too."
I never wanted a sister like you
I always wanted my sister to be
Like the one's I saw on TV
I listen to you, all the while
Staring into your false smile
I can't stand it anymore
Whatever are sisters for?
I'm so sick and tired of you
Sister, leave me alone, I'm through
Frenzy, By Anne Sexton
I am not lazy
I am on the amphetamine of the soul
I am, each day
Typing out the God
My typewriter believes in.
Very quick. Very intense,
like a wolf at a live heart. Not lazy,
When a lazy man, they say
looks toward heaven.
The angels close the windows.Oh angels,
Keep the windows open
So that I may reach in
and steal each object,
objects that tell me the sea is not dying.
Objects that tell me the dirt has a life-wish,
that the Christ who walked for me,
walked on true ground
and that this frenzy
like bees stinging the heart all morning,
will keep the angels
with their windows open,
wide as an English bathtub.

Lyrics
[Can I Run], by L7back to contents
Are these sensible shoes on my feet[Fascination Street], by the Cure.
I wear my shades so our eyes don't meet
I'm scared every fuckin' day
I wear my headphones so I can't hear what you say
Can I run
Can I runSwitch to paranoid from having fun
Will he use his hands, knife or a gun
Knuckles are white, wrapped around my mace
Come's from living in a terrrorist state
Can I run when he's following me
He's not my brother, he's my enemy
Is he behind the door or in back of the tree
Is he under the bed, is he in the back seat
Can I run

Oh it's opening time down on fascination street[Crucify], by Tori Amos
so let's cut the conversation and get out for a
bit because I feel it all fading and pailing and I'm
begging to drag you down with me to kick the
last nail in yeah I like you in that like I like you
to scream but if you open your mouth then I
can't be responsible for quite what goes in
Or to care what comes out so just pull on your hair
just pull on your pout and let's move to the beat
like we know that it's over my shoulder so just pull on your
face just pull on your feet and let's hit opening
time down on fascination streetso pull on your hair pull on your pout cut the
conversation just open your mouth pull on your
face pull on your feet and let's hit opening time
down on fascination street.
Every finger in the room is pointing at me
I wanna spit in their faces then I get afraid of what that could bring
I got a bowling ball in my stomach
I got a desert in my mouth
Figures that my courage would choose to sell out now
I've been loooking for a savior in these dirty streets
Looking for a savior beneath these dirty sheets
I've been raising up my hands drive another nail in
Just what God needs One more victimWhy do we crucify ourselves
every day I crucify myself
Nothing I do is good enough for you
Crucify myself every day
I crucify myself
And my heart is sick of being in chainsGot a kick for a dog beggin' for love
I gotta have my suffering
So that I can have my cross
I know a cat named Easter
he says will you ever learn
You're just an empty cage girl if you kill the bird
I've been looking for a savior in these dirty streets
looking for a savior beneath these dirty sheets
I've been raising up my hands drive another nail in
Got enough guilt to start my own religion
Please save me I cry........

[The Journals of Sylvia Plath]
These are Sylvia Plath's journals covering about 12 years of her life. It was edited by her husband, Ted Hughes, and even tells how she met him. This book is interesting because it reads like a book, instead of a journal. There's some pictures of her in the middle, and she talks about lots of her poems and other stories she wrote. Actually it's a lot like "The Bell Jar", but it was her real life (without any drama added to it). It's a little bit long, but if you like Sylvia Plath's poems I would recommend reading this. It gives more insight on her personality. A 10.
Movies
[Sid and Nancy]
This movie's not new, but it's my favorite one so I just had to review it. Most people have already seen it, but for those of you who haven't, it's about Sid Vicious (from the Sex Pistols) and his girlfriend Nancy Spungeon (read her bio, [And I Don't Want to Live This Life]). It talks about all the drugs they did, and about their relationship. It has Chloe Webb and Gary Oldman (spelling??).Courtney Love even has a bit part in it (very bit). This is the best movie, I give it a 10.
Music
[Smells Like Children], by Marilyn Manson
This one's not new either, but oh well. This is actually really good (if not a bit strange). I like the songs "Dance of The Dope Hats" (Remix), "Diary of a Dope Fiend", and "Sweet Dreams" (The video's really cool.). There's a strange conversation between a mother and daughter, about the mother taking her pills. This was produced by Trent Reznor (NIN), and their next album "AntiChrist Superstar" should be out soon (I'm not sure exactly when. Anybody know?). Daisy Berkowitz left the band (So I'm a little behind with the Marilyn Manson news). Anyway this is really cool and it's a good album. A 10.

Survey Results
back to contents1. Do you believe Vampires exist???
Well I got three no's, one maybe, one person that didn't care, and the rest said yes they do believe vampires exist. Obviously there are people that drink blood, wouldn't they be counted as vampires?
"Yes I caught one one time but it kept biting me so I killed it."
~MrManson66"I think vampires exist, even if they're not classic storybook ones, I think there's a little vampire in all of us."
~Daughter99
2. How many books a year do you read???
Got a lot of different answers for this one. A lot of people said between 1 and 7. Between 20 and 30 got the most. Some people said they had no idea, but it was a lot. And one person said they read 200 books a year!
3. How many pairs of shoes do you buy a year???
Well the average number was between 1 and 3 pairs. Between 4 and 6 got a bunch and one person said 12 pairs a year. 12 pairs........
4. Who is your idol???
Well not many people picked the same person. Actually the only thing people said more than three times, was that they didn't have an idol. Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, and Robert Smith were all picked 3 times. Other people mentioned were: Parents, boyfriends, girlfriends, Beck, Janis Joplin, Louise Post, Nina Gordon, Kirk Hamett, Mozart, Kate Moss, grandparents, Stephen King, and Keifer Sutherland.
5. Do you watch soap operas???
It was pretty much a tie between yes and no. Another World and Guiding Light were only picked twice (aside from my vote that is). Days of our Lives was picked the most. Followed by: All My Children, One Life to Live and Geberal Hospital.
"DAYS OF OUR LIVES!!! I mean it's the most ridiculous show. The storyline is so unrealistic, but for some reason I feel myself being pulled as by a force greater than I to the T.V. set at 1:00...."
~ Lorelei66
6. Do you own a record player??? Records???
There were a few no's, but everyone else said yes they do. Most of the people that do own one said it either belonged to their parents or it was broken.
7. What's your favorite item of clothing???
The only thing that was picked more than once was jeans. Here are a few of the others: Fishnets, lingerie, shirts, pants, concert/band T-shirts (Okay so these were pciked more than once, but they were all different bands), boots, boxers, vans, shorts, and one person said they don't have a favorite one.
8. "Popular" by Nada Surf, Love it or hate it???
Around 20 people hate it, lots of people are sick of it, 2 people actually said they hadn't heard of it, one person sorta liked it, and around 12 people love it. Does anyone else think the girl in that video looks like a vampire? (I'm not sure why, she just reminds me of one.)
"When I first heard popular by Nada Surf I thought ok maybe I'll buy this cd, at the time it wasn't so bad, but now it is. MAKE POPULAR STOP, IT IS OVERPLAYED!!"
~Kage Spike
(By the way. I don't know how to get in touch with Veruca Salt, but if anyone else does will you please email me?)"hate the video, the girl scares me can live with the song, but I wouldn't pay money for it."
~Kurtsie
9. What question would you most like to see on this survey???
Next week I'm going to put all questions that other people picked, and I'll put their names next to them. If you have any survey questions you can still email them to me. There's some interesting ones.
"we're running out of ideas are we?? I don't know probably something that would offend people."
~MrManson66
10. What do you think is the best album ever made??? (Make sure you include the bands name)
Almost everyone picked something different, but there were a few that were picked twice. Marilyn Manson: [Portrait of an American Family], Smashing Pumpkins: [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness], NIN: [Pretty Hate Machine], Hole: [Live Through This], all the Nirvana albums, NIN: [The Downward Spiral], Pink Floyd: [The Wall]. All the Cure albums, the Beatles: [The White Album], Babes in Toyland: [To Mother], and a whole bunch of other bands were also picked.

I don't want to go back to school. When do you guys go back?? Or have you already gone back?? Oh well. Next week I'll have another survey, so send in those questions. Send your poems, lyrics, and anything else you find interesting to: KITENZ@aol.com. If anyone wants to write some reviews, concert or otherwise, I could use a few. (In case you didn't notice, the review section's been getting shorter and shorter.) Do you still want to read about vampires, or is that kinda getting old?? I'm looking for some good witch stories (real life, fables, anything) if you have any. Anyway have a nice week, bye bye. If you change your screen name could you please tell me. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, that story that was in here last week, (about waking up in a ditch ) it's the hidden track on a Tool album. (Thanks Soul17)back to contentsLuv,
